Locking wheel nut assistance in Portree.
If a locking wheel nut key is missing in Portree, raise that issue before arranging tyre attendance. A vehicle parked at a hotel may have its key with the driver, owner or hire company, so a few checks can clarify what equipment the fitter would need.

Portree, in practical terms
Find the locking key before the fitting.
A tyre problem in Portree can interrupt the school run, a delivery or a day exploring the island. Tell us whether you are in the town, by the harbour or on an approach road so dispatch can assess access and the right place to work. We can discuss urgent attendance or a planned visit while your vehicle is safely parked.
The approach to your vehicle.
- Share a map pin as well as your address, especially at holiday accommodation with several entrances.
- For harbour or town-centre parking, tell us about parking restrictions and space beside the affected wheel.
- If you are on the A87 rather than in town, include your direction of travel and the nearest safe landmark.
What this service involves.
A missing locking wheel nut key can prevent a tyre change from going ahead. Let the booking team know before a fitter travels. Photos of the wheel, locking nut and any damaged key help assess whether assistance can be arranged. Availability of equipment and the condition of the wheel fixing determine the next step; removal is not promised for every vehicle.
Good to know
Your Portree tyre visit.
Can a Portree hire-car driver approve locking nut work?
Check the hire company's procedure and obtain the necessary permission first. Let the booking team know that it is a hired vehicle and whether the company has supplied a key or assistance instructions.
Can you guarantee removal without the key?
No. The vehicle, nut design, condition and available equipment must be assessed. The team will explain whether assistance can be offered and any limitations before agreeing the job.
Is locking wheel nut assistance included in fitting?
It should not be assumed to be included. Tell the team before booking so any additional work, availability and price can be discussed.
How is arrival time checked for Portree?
