After mobile tyre fitting: the handover and follow-up

The appointment ends with a handover, not simply with the fitter packing away. Taking a moment to understand what was fitted, what was observed and whether follow-up is needed gives you a clearer record of the work and a useful contact point afterwards.

Ask what was completed and what remains open

Before the fitter leaves, confirm which wheels received attention and the tyre product supplied. If you booked more than one replacement, check that the handover covers each agreed wheel. Ask whether the inspection found anything requiring a separate appointment. A new tyre does not automatically resolve every steering, suspension or wheel problem that may have existed before the visit.

Discuss any warning light or unusual behaviour you reported when booking. A useful handover distinguishes the tyre work completed from a further issue that still needs investigation. If the fitter recommends another professional assessment, ask what was observed and what information to pass on. Do not assume a recommendation means an additional service has already been booked elsewhere.

Keep the practical details together

Make sure the vehicle key and locking wheel nut key have been returned to their agreed place. Keep the booking reference, confirmation and any work record together, particularly if somebody else arranged the visit for you. If it is a company, leased or hired vehicle, pass the relevant information to the person responsible for its maintenance rather than leaving it only on your phone.

Ask for any vehicle-specific instructions to be explained before you set off. Pressure settings, monitoring-system procedures and any follow-up check should follow the vehicle and product requirements, rather than a general instruction copied from another car. You do not need to memorise technical terminology: note the advice and ask who to contact if you are unsure about it later.

Report a concern with useful context

If you notice a new vibration, pressure warning or handling concern, contact a professional promptly and explain what changed. Michelin identifies balancing as one possible reason for vibration, but a symptom alone does not establish the cause. Do not make a special drive to reproduce a problem or assume every warning is simply a reset waiting to happen.

Give the booking reference, the affected wheel if known, when you first noticed the concern and whether it existed before fitting. Say where the vehicle is currently parked so the team can discuss the next step. For an upcoming replacement, use our mobile tyre fitting service to arrange the visit; for a concern after existing work, contact the team with that original reference.

A LITTLE PREPARATION

Before you book

  • Confirm which tyres and wheels received work.
  • Collect the vehicle and locking wheel nut keys.
  • Keep the booking and completed-work details.
  • Record and report any new warning or handling concern.
YOUR NEXT STEP

Your tyres, taken care of.

Choose a visit that fits your day. Share your vehicle and location, and we’ll confirm the right tyre, appointment and full quote.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

Does tyre fitting include fixing every vibration?

No. Vibration can need further assessment. Tell the fitter about an existing symptom and ask what the completed tyre work establishes about it.

What should I send if a warning appears after the visit?

Send your booking reference, the warning shown, when it appeared and the current vehicle location. The team can discuss an appropriate next step.
