Open the call with a compact job summary
Have the agreement number, registration, actual vehicle location and affected wheel ready. Explain whether you have a tyre warning, visible damage or a completely flat tyre. Tell the representative if a local mobile tyre team has been contacted only to enquire about availability.
Ask whether the rental company wants its own assistance provider involved before another supplier is considered. Enterprise's published assistance guidance directs renters to the rental location or its assistance service; use the process belonging to your particular agreement.
Read back the scope in plain language
If independent work is permitted, ask whether approval covers inspection, repair, replacement or a specific combination. Confirm whether the replacement specification, brand or other details must be approved separately. A general permission to seek help can leave these questions unresolved.
Send the proposed total quote and job description through the requested channel. Ask what should happen if inspection changes the proposal. The fitter should know whether additional authorisation is required before different work can proceed.
Identify the person and the next contact
Record the representative's name, case reference and contact method. Request written confirmation where available. Check that the registration and wheel details in the response match your car.
Ask who can answer during the proposed visit if a decision is needed. A generic inbox may be suitable for submitting documents but unhelpful for a time-sensitive inspection question. Keep one traveller responsible for passing updates between the company and fitter.
Keep approval, payment and cover as separate questions
Ask who authorises payment and to whom the receipt should be issued. Confirm any document requirements directly, including the rental agreement reference. Permission to use a supplier does not by itself tell the fitter that the rental company will pay them.
Retain the approval with your booking record and tell the fitting team about any limit or restriction before accepting the appointment. If the company cannot confirm a decision, make that uncertainty explicit. Enquiring about a tyre does not need to become an unauthorised order.
Before you book
- Read out registration and agreement number.
- Confirm permitted supplier and work scope.
- Save a named contact and case reference.
- Separate approval from payment responsibility.
- Agree who approves changes after inspection.
Your tyres, taken care of.
Tell us where you’ve safely stopped and what your vehicle needs. We’ll check availability and confirm your quote and arrival estimate.
Your questions, answered.
Can the fitter obtain permission on my behalf?
Discuss any communication arrangement with both parties. Do not assume the fitting team can access your rental account or approve work for you. Keep the rental agreement holder or authorised contact reachable.
Is an approval number enough information?
Keep the number, but also record what was approved and any conditions attached. The team still needs the correct vehicle, tyre specification, working location and agreement on the actual proposed job.
