Mobile tyre help for a self-drive tour of Skye

A self-drive itinerary can cover several stops, but the tyre visit needs one reliable vehicle location and contact. Share where the car is now, its tyre details and the next deadline that matters. We can assess the proposed mobile visit while you review the rest of the day.

Start with the stop you have actually reached

Pin the vehicle at its current parking position and name the car park, accommodation or road location. Add a bay, entrance or fixed landmark that helps distinguish it from the attraction itself. A walking route marker or sightseeing destination may be some distance from the parked car.

Tell us whether the car is hired and which member of the party is responsible for the vehicle. If a tour planner booked your accommodation, identify who can provide access instructions or contact the host.

Send a usable tyre request between itinerary changes

Give registration, affected wheel, complete tyre marking and quantity. Explain the symptoms and any repair kit already used. Keep a readable sidewall photograph with the enquiry where it can be taken safely; a picture of the whole car alone does not identify the tyre.

Locate the locking wheel nut key and obtain any rental-company approval before agreeing independent work. One traveller should hold these details and remain reachable, even if the rest of the group changes its sightseeing plans.

Make the onward schedule useful without making it a promise

Name the next accommodation, ferry check-in or vehicle return deadline separately from the fitting address. The team can consider the actual tyre availability and attendance options against that information. Contact the relevant operator directly if you need to alter another booking.

If you are travelling in several cars, keep the affected vehicle’s registration and contact distinct. Tell us if another traveller can help with communication; a second car in the group does not establish that the damaged vehicle should move.

Accept one clear arrangement

Choose urgent help for the interrupted journey or an available planned appointment when the car can remain at an agreed location. Confirm parking permission, access and working room before relying on that meeting point.

Review the complete quote and accepted appointment before booking. A confirmed replacement quote includes the selected tyre supply and agreed fitting service. Keep the contact available and update the team if another assistance arrangement, changed property or revised tour plan affects where the vehicle will be.

Good to know

Before you arrange your visit.

Can I book at the next stop on my tour?

Use the actual vehicle location. A future sightseeing stop should only become the appointment location once the car can appropriately be there and that arrangement is confirmed.

What if we are touring with two hire cars?

Identify the affected car by registration and wheel, and keep an authorised contact with it. Share the other traveller’s number only as an agreed communication contact.
