Tyre help at Lealt Falls: identify the right parking area

Lealt Falls has more than one parking level, so a general attraction pin can put a tyre enquiry in the wrong place. Start with the car location, its entrance and the affected wheel. The viewing platform and walking destinations are useful context, but the fitting request needs the place where the vehicle can actually be reached.

Distinguish upper and lower Lealt parking

Staffin Community Trust describes the Lealt gorge site as having upper and lower parking areas off the A855. Its published parking information explains access to the upper area through the lower one. Use those distinctions when describing the vehicle, then check the current signs rather than treating a historic repair notice as a statement of today’s restrictions.

Send the actual car pin and add the registration, colour and a nearby fixed feature. If the vehicle is on the approach road instead of inside either parking area, say so explicitly. A map marker on the viewing platform, river or coastal path is not the correct destination for a mobile tyre fitting van.

Keep the appointment separate from the viewpoint walk

The community’s Lealt information describes walking choices from the viewing area and warns about dangerous ground beyond a viewpoint. There is no need to go looking for a better meeting pin on those paths. Keep the request focused on the parked vehicle and take any photographs of working space only from somewhere you can stand safely.

Ask the parking operator about an immobilised car and any proposed work, then share the instructions. A visitor space may not leave enough room beside the affected wheel, even when the car is parked correctly. Nominate someone reachable with the key who can approve the quote; do not assume attendance while the whole party leaves for another walk.

Provide the vehicle details before changing the route

Photograph the full tyre size and load markings, identify the damaged wheel and say whether an impact or driving after pressure loss occurred. Locate the locking key. For a rental, obtain the provider approval instructions before agreeing work. For a campervan, include weight and wheel details so tyre options and equipment needs can be checked accurately.

Tell the team if a later ferry or accommodation check-in is affected. The actual working position, tyre availability and current fitter schedule determine whether a visit can be confirmed. A replacement quote includes the agreed tyre supply and mobile fitting, while repairability remains subject to assessment. A Lealt attraction name alone is not a promise of a particular arrival time.

A LITTLE PREPARATION

Before you book

  • State upper or lower parking, or roadside.
  • Pin the actual vehicle.
  • Follow current site instructions.
  • Keep a reachable authorised key holder.
  • Send full tyre markings and damage history.
YOUR NEXT STEP

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

Is the Lealt viewing platform pin suitable for tyre help?

Use the car parking pin instead and say which parking level you are in. The platform does not locate the vehicle or establish access for fitting equipment.

Does an older parking notice show current access?

Check current signs and operator advice. Published development or repair notices help explain the layout, but do not establish that historic restrictions remain in force today.
