Describe the vehicle accurately
Provide the make, model, registration and stated vehicle weight from its documents or plate. Say whether it is a converted van or a motorhome and whether any trailer is attached. Size and weight affect equipment and access decisions; the registration alone is not enough.
Photographs of the whole vehicle and affected wheel help explain the layout. Mention wheel covers, twin rear wheels or unusual fittings rather than assuming they are covered by a standard appointment.
Read the complete tyre marking
Send a sharp photograph of the sidewall, including the size and all following markings. Do not shorten the specification to the wheel diameter. The team needs to check the required tyre against the vehicle information and confirm availability before supplying a replacement.
A tyre that looks similar is not automatically suitable. If the vehicle handbook or hire company specifies a particular construction or rating, include that information in the enquiry.
Check the campsite or stopping place
Tell reception or the landowner about the proposed visit. Explain barriers, access hours, narrow turns and the surface beneath the vehicle. A pitch can be comfortable for camping yet unsuitable for fitting equipment, particularly if the ground is soft or sloping.
Plan around a confirmed arrangement
State whether you can remain on the pitch and when you intend to leave. Ask the team to confirm job suitability, tyre supply, timing and the total quote together. If the vehicle or location cannot be accepted, discuss the next practical step before arranging more travel.
Before you book

Your questions, answered.
Do you cover every motorhome on Skye?
No blanket coverage is promised. Equipment, vehicle weight, wheel layout, tyre specification and the work site must be assessed before the job can be accepted.
Can a fitter work on my campsite pitch?
Only if permission, access and working conditions are suitable. Contact the campsite and explain the site to the booking team before confirming a visit.
