Describe the wheel arrangement accurately
Provide a photograph of the whole vehicle and the rear wheel arrangement where it can be taken safely. State the side of the vehicle and the suspected inner or outer tyre. If a dashboard warning does not identify the physical tyre clearly, explain that uncertainty instead of selecting a wheel by guesswork.
Do not crawl beneath the motorhome, remove wheels or attempt to separate a twin assembly to obtain information. Say whether wheel covers or other fittings obscure the tyre. The team needs an honest description of what can be seen and what remains unknown before deciding whether its equipment and access are suitable.
Send the complete markings and vehicle weight
Include the full tyre size, construction letters, load markings and speed symbol from an accessible sidewall or vehicle documentation. TyreSafe explains that C and CP markings describe different applications and that load information can relate to single or twin fitment. The wheel diameter alone does not establish the correct replacement.
Give the plated vehicle weight and any available manufacturer specification, together with the make and model. Do not substitute a generic passenger-car tyre from a similar-looking size. The proposed product and application need checking, and an enquiry cannot promise that an appropriate tyre is already available.
Explain the stopping place and equipment constraints
Describe the surface, slope, surrounding space and route for a service van. If at a campsite, provide the pitch and ask the operator about maintenance permission. Mention levelling ramps, attached trailers and any restriction on access. A firm parking space by itself does not confirm safe lifting or suitable equipment for a heavy vehicle.
Tell dispatch if the position exposes the affected wheel to passing traffic or if the vehicle cannot remain there. This is a tyre suitability enquiry, not an arrangement for heavy-vehicle recovery. If the requested job cannot be accepted at the current site, discuss that explicitly rather than assuming the appointment includes moving the motorhome.
Agree the job before changing the holiday route
For a hired motorhome, obtain the rental operator’s instructions and permission to approve work. Keep the locking key or relevant wheel access information available. Review the accepted scope, tyre availability, complete price and appointment together before planning another drive or assuming the remaining rear tyre makes continued travel suitable.
Before you book
- Identify side and inner or outer rear wheel.
- Send accessible complete tyre markings.
- Provide vehicle weight and wheel-layout photos.
- Describe ground, access and hire-company approval.
Your tyres, taken care of.
Tell us where you’ve safely stopped and what your vehicle needs. We’ll check availability and confirm your quote and arrival estimate.
Your questions, answered.
Does one inflated tyre in a twin pair mean I can keep driving?
Do not treat it as confirmation that continued travel is suitable. Explain the problem to the assistance provider and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions. A booking form cannot assess the loaded vehicle or the remaining tyre.
Can I book a standard car appointment for a twin-wheel motorhome?
State the actual motorhome and wheel layout. Equipment, weight, replacement specification and work site need individual assessment before a visit is accepted; a standard car selection does not establish suitability.
