How to share a rural Skye address with your tyre fitter

A rural postcode can describe an area rather than a single entrance. When booking tyre help on Skye, combine the address with the position of the vehicle and a short description of the approach. That gives the team a much clearer destination than a village name alone.

Choose an address, then check what it means

Start typing the address in the booking form and choose the matching suggestion. Read the full result before selecting it, particularly when several properties have similar names. A familiar postcode is useful, but should not be treated as proof that the marker points to your driveway.

After selecting the address, inspect the map preview. Add your house name, unit number or accommodation name in the relevant details. If you edit the searched address or postcode, select the result again so the booking retains a confirmed pin.

Describe the entrance rather than the scenery

A short instruction such as “second signed driveway after the junction; gate opens away from the road” is usually clearer than a long description of the surrounding landscape. Mention a shared entrance, barrier or unmarked track before the visit.

If the building sits away from the parking space, explain where the vehicle actually is and where the fitter should stop. Do not place a marker at a reception desk if the vehicle cannot be reached from there.

For roadside help, share your real position

Use the nearest identifiable road or landmark together with a pin, and say which direction you were travelling. Explain the side of the road and whether there is space away from passing vehicles. Avoid selecting a nearby house simply to provide a postal address; make the roadside location clear.

Keep location details current

If the vehicle is moved, contact the team before the fitter sets out. A saved address does not update itself when the car changes position. A different route or working area may need a fresh arrival estimate and a check that the visit is still suitable.

A LITTLE PREPARATION

Before you book

  • Select the correct autocomplete address.
  • Check the marker against the vehicle position.
  • Add the property name and entrance instructions.
  • Report any location change before the visit.
YOUR NEXT STEP

Your tyres, taken care of.

Tell us where you’ve safely stopped and what your vehicle needs. We’ll check availability and confirm your quote and arrival estimate.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

What if my accommodation is not in address search?

Manual details remain available. Enter the property name and full location information, then contact the team to clarify the entrance and vehicle position before attendance.

Is a postcode enough for a roadside puncture?

Usually more detail is needed. Give a pin, road or landmark, direction of travel and a description of the actual stopping place.
